Interior House Painting involves much more than just applying paint on the walls throughout your home. As a residential contractor, we perform several tasks to make sure that you are happy with the final result.
There are a variety of types of paint from which you can choose, and interior painters help with that choice. You might hear about latex, semi-gloss, enamel, oil-base and not really know which one is best for your situation. Don’t try to figure it out on your own – we have been doing this a long time, so take advantage of our experience and let us help with this decision.
Kruse Painting can also help with the choice of color. Of course, the final decision is up to you. Your choice of color may be based on factors that are personal to you. But if you do run out of ideas and are looking for additional input, we can provide that.
As interior painters, we are also commonly asked, “How much paint will I need?” If you don’t do this work regularly, it may be difficult to calculate exactly how many gallons will be required. Part of the answer depends on if you will be applying one coat or two – we always apply two coats of paint. In most cases, we can look at the rooms you want painted and come up with a pretty close estimate on how many gallons will be needed. We have to be able to figure that out, in order to provide you with an estimate that contains accurate figures.
Then there’s the question about using a primer coat first. Do you need to put on a primer? Which primer should be used? What brands are preferred? Kruse Painting can answer all of those questions.
We also provide advice on how to prepare the room for the actual work. Furniture needs to be moved out of the room (or at least covered adequately). If there is not enough natural light in the room (or it happens to be a dark or cloudy day), additional lighting needs to be brought in (we take care of that). All electric outlet covers and switch plates have to be removed. We also look over the surface of each wall to find any repairs that need to be done. Our job as interior painters means we know all of these things that have to be done ahead of time, and we take care of them for you.
